FAQ: Will Seraphis and Jamtis change the way I can mine Monero?

No.

There is no plan to move away from RandomX as the proof-of-work algorithm that you use to mine Monero, not for Seraphis and Jamtis, nor for anything else already on the horizon. Thus no changes regarding Monero mining.

There is one improvement however regarding payouts: Now you can only mine to a main address (those starting with a 4), but not to a subaddress (those starting with an 8). In the future it will be possible to use any address you created in your wallet for mining.
