FAQ: Will the wallet app XYZ that I use now support Seraphis and Jamtis?

René Brunner edited this page Jan 22, 2023 · 1 revision

Hopefully, but there is no guarantee.

It's the plan of the Monero devs to make it as easy as possible to wallet app writers to adapt their software to Seraphis and Jamtis, but depending on the wallet this still will be anything but trivial.

It's possible that some parties will decide that the effort needed to support the hardfork is not worth it, or that they simply don't find the necessary dev capacity in time.

More Info

You find a list of all non-custodial wallets that support Monero here.

If you don't use any of the dedicated Monero wallet apps but one of the multicoin wallets where Monero is only one currency among many, it may be a good idea to check whether it offers functionality to display the standard Monero 25-word seed or the spend secret key it internally uses for managing Monero because either will allow you switch to a Seraphis capable dedicated Monero wallet if need arises.
