there seems to be no possibility to send messages to more then one recipients. This is possible in the stock SMS App and with Messengers.

Did you try New Group under the action bar menu?

yes for Messenger this is the right feature but if i only want to send an SMS to more than one recipient it is a bit complicated/oversized, the stock app let me add more then one contact from adressbook...
