Send Test Mail - Mail could not be sent - Error: undefined #7825

Expected Behavior (or desired behavior if a feature request)

The test email gets sent to the email address supplied in the .emv file and an EULA gets emailed to the recipient's email address.

Actual Behavior

When clicking 'Send Test' button, the window freezes and then says in red: Mail could not be sent. Error: undefined and when checking out an asset to a user - just comes up with a 'whoops something went wrong' page

  • Version of PHP you're running: 7.1.29

  • What method you used to install Snipe-IT (install.sh, manual installation, docker, etc): Manual Installation
  • WITH DEBUG TURNED ON, if you're getting an error in your browser, include that error:
  • What specific Snipe-IT page you're on, and what specific element you're interacting with to trigger the error: Update General Settings page, clicking on the Send Test button under the Test Mail heading.

Hi there, I am not sure how to rectify this issue. My .emv file settings for gmail are as follows and have worked perfectly fine up until 14th Feb 2020:

Any help would be much appreciated as we cannot email out any EULA's to users - just comes up with a 'whoops something went wrong' page when checking out an asset to a user.

Ok, it seems like i have 2- step verification, and the solution to enable less secure apps doesn't work.

It suggests using App Passwords, but not sure that can be setup for a Linux server, at least its not an option to select in Google control panel.

Anyway i will look into again to see if it can be solved also with my setup.

Still its very strange, because i get mail from the daily backup which is made by Snip-it, but perhaps its 2 different methods used to send the mail.
