fix: Adds Mac cross compile flags into barretenberg #1954
Conversation
I think this is a clang-only flag? Would be good to make sure this works with gcc (which in turn is nice to have if only as it catches different problems than clang) |
Yeah, I had assumed that if you're on Mac then you will be using AppleClang or llvm clang. For folks that run gcc on Mac, I can add a conditional flag into the CMake file to skip setting the compiler flags, I believe the process for cross compiling arm to x86 on gcc for apple mac is more involved and would require a special cross-compiler, whereas with apple's clang its builtin. |
I'm good with just skipping on gcc. I use gcc on mac to hit it's different errors such as the Warray-bounds error we discussed. Feels valuable. At least until we get a mainframe closer to North America with less input lag :P |

When fixing #1841 the flags were put in the cmake toolchains file for circuits which does not get inherited by the barretenberg toolchain files.
