Minutes

  1. (Melissa) - Github organization is now named "Islandora 8", and has a new logo. (haven't changed the github handle yet, it'll be a bit to sort out). https://github.com/Islandora-CLAW
  2. https://github.com/Islandora-Devops/claw-playbook/pull/100 looks small, packs a big punch (because it pulls in new versions of ansible roles that have been sliced). Will resolve several issues on our release checklist (milestones):
    1. Fixes the indexing of Media RDF in Fedora, when the file itself also lives in Fedora. It does this by making use of Fedora 5's external file support. It standardizing how Fedora does non-rdf content.
    2. Fixes triplestore indexing in fedora.
    3. Pulls in latest changes in crayfish, including Jared Whiklo's recast service.
    4. This means now we're at the "Expected Behaviour" diagram in https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JmhWbcR8yHCzz879QWyqZ1lszuIsYcNn/view
    5. Uses only redirect right now, but could be reconfigured to allow you to "proxy" instead.
  3. What would a Fedora-less Islandora look like? What would you lose/gain?
    1. Separates the preservation content (important) from the ephemeral (Drupal).
    2. It's the community that created Oxford Common Filesystem Layout (https://ocfl.io/)
    3. Fixity checks, but Drupal can do that too.
    4. Audit trails, where are they? (Camel tooling around responding to Fedora events was broken due to Java clients, but should work with that pull request mentioned above, so while they're gone now, we should ... have this back).
    5. Nat: Can we put our stuff in other preservation layers? The coupling is loose now, anyway. Might encourage Drupal users who don't have resources for Fedora to deploy Islandora. You could plug in a different preservation layer.
    6. Does Islandora still have an identity without a preservation backend? Yes comments include: content modelling, a starting place for building a repository, triplestore
    7. Flesh out ticket 1085 with a list of features that Fedora provides to us. Be clear about what features are provided and by what systems, and provide this kind of documentation publicly (like bullet lists of "free version", "premium version" etc)
    8. No pitchforks were brandished.
  4. We have issues!
    1. https://github.com/Islandora-CLAW/CLAW/issues/1100 - simple, we'll remove the block configuration to remove the theme dependency.
    2. https://github.com/Islandora-CLAW/CLAW/issues/1103 - checking if still an issue.
    3. https://github.com/Islandora-CLAW/CLAW/issues/1104 - trying to have an interface for sharing an item between multiple collections, and for doing this to multiple objects. Gonna continue to explore Views Bulk Edit - Yay for third party modules!
    4. https://github.com/Islandora-CLAW/CLAW/issues/1105 - gonna kill the width in CSS. Might be a remnant from before Drupal was responsive.
    5. https://github.com/Islandora-CLAW/CLAW/issues/1106 - how do we confirm that we are accessibility compliant?
