Minutes

1. Drupal 9 Sprint Update

   • Islandora 8/9 will support php 7.3 and php 7.4, will no longer support 7.2 or lower versions.
   • Only Drupal 8.8+ version will be supported.
   • Composer 2.0^ is needed
   • Drupal project is no longer needed. Now, we are using Drupal recommended project, and we can specify the Drupal version we are specifying.
   • An update process needs to be defined.
   • ISLE and Ansible releases are coming soon.

2. Adding version at the tops of readmes

   • Islandora Modules should indicate the required dependencies in the READMEs, specially the required Islandora version.

3. Issue Roundup

   • https://github.com/Islandora/documentation/issues/1738 - Need a way to find Islandora 8 sites in the wild. Perhaps, we can add it to the path, or find an opt-in way to announce an islandora instance. Path Alias maybe a way to append islandora to path. Another option is to include a powered by Islandora status page with some useful information. Example: https://ladi.lib.utexas.edu/en/about. We should be cautious with respect to baking in things that can be perceived as telemetry.

   • There seems to be consensus that including a useful islandora info/status basic page as the least intrusive option to help discover Islandora 8 instances in the wild. Of course, the users can choose to delete that page.
