Chrysalis is a graphical tool to modify key layouts for keyboards running Kaleidoscope. If you don't yet have it installed, you should follow these instructions before proceeding.

This tutorial will walk you through making a simple change to your keyboard layout: Swapping the Space and Backspace keys. While the example shows the Keyboardio Model 01, the process is the same for any keyboard running Kaleidoscope.

1. Start Chrysalis

2. Click "Connect" to connect to your keyboard

3. Click the "Space" key on the keyboard map to select it.

You've now selected the Space key for editing.

4. Click "Backspace" in the key selector at the bottom of the screen

You've now changed Space into a backspace.

5. Click on the old "Backspace" key on the keyboard map to select it.

You've now selected the old "Backspace" key

6: Click "Space" in the key selector at the bottom of the screen.

You've turned Backspace into a Space key.

7: Click "Save Changes"

Save Changes uploads your layout changes to your keyboard. That's it. You're all set.
