Hi,
What is the significance of the pre-release tag? From a past blog post, it seems to indicate "pending more testing", but I see that the tag rarely gets removed.

The last latest is 7.18.1, while the entire 7.19.x series is pre-release -- does that mean 7.19 is no good?

We generally release as pre-release first just in case there's some issue we missed. Though, generally, we don't expect anything by the time we do a release.
We generally do the pre-release promotions on npm and we often forget to come back and remove the pre-release tags on github releases. Though, we also sometimes forget to promote to latest on npm as well for a while.

7.19.x is definitely due to be promoted to latest.
