This game is amazing. Start here and you'll be enthralled to try the others. If you love a deep storyline with lengthy cutscenes and a deep emotional story this is the game for you. (SEGA are releasing a variety of the other games on PC with Yakuza Kiwami 2 coming this May and with Yakuza Kiwami being launched a few months ago) Humble Bundle! This game was a lot of fun, so i'm going to start right off with that as the PRO category. If you get it on the cheap (circa 2019), you don't be too sad. The cons. Jesus tapdancing christ, whoever programmed the skip function in this game should be taken the hell outside and shot. To death. Then revived. And shot again. Sometimes you can skip dialogue. Sometimes you can't. Oftentimes, you can't. This is like complaint #1, #2, and #3 all rolled up in one. These guys could not even keep the visual context in line- sometimes you are in a "movie" type scene that caps down to 30fps, and you definitely cannot skip a single one of those lines. God forbid you can read faster than they can type, because you are in for a frustrating treat. However, other dialogue doesn't go into movie mode and still... sometimes you are unable to skip it! It seems like... 10% of the time they meant this to be true to provide emphasis on the words they were saying, but search me if I could tell you why the rest of the damn times do that. I'm literally in the end credits now. There is no skip. I watched the "important" credits, and the "hero did this, significant character did that" parts of the credits, and STILL no skip. Did you finish reading the significant character did that before they think you did? Well guess what!? You can stare, bitch. Minor cons, major story beats, and one of the most unexpected. I've spent so much time on the main story that I almost lost hope. I even completed the shop background, which is also very interesting. You don't see much side activities except for fishing, playing darts, and bowling. What you do see is pretty much completely randomized and that's no fun. My first yakuza was on the playstation 3 (yakuza 4) And sinces then i have been a huge fan of the series. And i'm so happy the yakuza franchise is comming to pc. I Really hope that the yakuza remasterd games are also comming to pc as well. But once agian. The story of this game... MASTERPIECE THE ENTIRE GAME IS A MASTERPIECE! 10/10. A silly, but also amazing game about a two yakuza gang members trying to restore their honor. The best part imo is not the main story(it's alright) but the things you do in between. You can do so many activities like going to the batting cage, playing old sega games, playing darts, etc. It's also full weird, silly side quests that are often the best part of the game. The world is small & not exactly "open" in the traditional sense, but it's vibrant & feels very realistic. In this game, the size of the world works to it's advantage. The combat is also good, but also nothing amazing. Incredible game with an amazing roller coaster of a story that never stops giving. A beautiful soundtrack with lovable cast of characters. Gameplay is rather simple but has a flair too it that makes you keep coming back with it's flashy heat system. Not to mention there being TWO characters both with different styles of play and storylines which seem very different at first but end up slowly linking to each other beautifully and unfold many plot twists which turn the story completely on it's head. This is THE Yakuza game to get into the series as a whole. Start here and you'll be enthralled to try the others. If you love a deep storyline with lengthy cutscenes and a deep emotional story this is the game for you. (SEGA are releasing a variety of the other games on PC with Yakuza Kiwami 2 coming this May and with Yakuza Kiwami being launched a few months ago) I have a few small gripes with Yakuza 0, all of which have to do with minigames. First of all, Majima’s business minigame, if doing everything for it, drags on for just a bit too long. It was a lot of fun completing its main story, but doing all of the side stuff for it became a slog where I eventually just alt tabbed for each duration of the business being open (somehow not serving any guests and enraging them with

This game is not even worth the space on a hard drive. {Story/Characters}: Very unusual but memorable characters+ story [Do you like Fist of the North Star or JoJo's Bizarre Adventure? If so, you will like this.] {Gameplay}: Significantly different fighting styles with their own upgrade tree that you can change mid combat to fit your own playstyle. You can beat every enemy/boss with any of the fighting styles. [Ever play DMC? Enjoy the ability to switch styles mid-combat to do combos in that? This is similar.] *Kiryu's Beast mode is very weak without weapons until you upgrade the skill tree far enough. However, the damage with weapons in beast mode is so strong that only a couple of motorcycle hits to Mr.Shakedown's face is enough to beat him. This was nerfed in the sequel (Kiwami). {Game Performance}: A recent patch to the game significantly improved the performance of this game on my 5-year old 500 $USD laptop(2.3 GHz 7th Gen I3 + Intel HD graphics ). I used to be able to play this with only 25 FPS at minimum settings, right now it is a consistent 30 FPS. If this computer can run on my potato, it should be able to run on your computer. Tips:

 1. The game sometimes crashes with the screen freezing whenever you bet money in underground colliseum fights. If this happens just exit the betting screen and take the loss. This way you can still eventually unlock the hidden fighting style, albeit slightly longer.
 2. Mr.Shakedown is immune to all guns except the [Slime Gun] and the[ Zap Gun], you unlock these guns from the clown next to the shrine.
 3. Kiryu can unlock the weapon shop from a side mission. The weapon shop allows you to buy and repair any weapon you have already obtained including the [Slime Gun] and [Zap Gun].
 4. Kiryu can trade CP points at the shrine to get the ability to get 50% more money for defeating Mr.Shakedown. You can purposely lose to him and then win to get a lot of money for upgrade. -Beware when doing this, Mr. Shakedown gets stronger each time you beat him until he gets 5 bars of life (purple health bar) and one stomp while you are on the ground one shots you even with a couple of levels put into the last hidden skill tree.
 5. The strongest healing item, the [Staminan Royale] only costs 12,000 and can be only bought in the drugstore.
 6. It took me a long time to realize this, but when you do Kiryu's Beast mode training missions, you do not have to break all the money crates, once you reached the money goal you can just finish the rest of the mannequins with regular attacks to save time. Great game all around. Super fun. Those who buy this game will not regret it, and come in with a fresh perspective if you can. I did and it turned out to be one of my favourite gaming experiences I had in recent memory. The minigames and side stories are just as excellently made as the main campaign, whether it is insane like helping a cabaret club, joining a pocket racing tournament complete with all the (glorious) cliches to the more down to earth (well, for a game like this anyway) like helping a band who doesn't know how to act tough, getting an adult magazine to a kid whilst sneaking from other women and helping out a Japanese restaurant by fishing. That's not to mention the story, which is a good story on its own and a great starting point for anyone (obviously one of them). While the cutscenes can get admittedly long, there are many highlights to at least have a clue on what's happening. Gameplay isn't super complex but its not too simple either. The hard difficulty is not a bad way to experience the game and I'm not that great in games (except the final part because I still suck at games lol). Also runs great on older hardware like mines, which can generally run PS3/X360 era games at least competently. Pick it up and see for yourself, what do I know Bought it on preorder but never really play it after prologue because it's sooooo boring, the battle is as easy as pressing two buttons BUT I WAS WRONG. After giving it another try last week, I CAN'T STOP PLAYING IT. The protagonist are so freaking powerful, with absurd side stories & minigames. You can let a chicken become a manager of your real estate business, collecting women cards for libido man, playing "Tamiya", help a high school boy to find his stolen trouser, then minute later you back inside the most chaos situations of Yakuza life in the main story. TL

One of the best games I ever played. It was a first of the game from this series I played. I came to it expecting a mediocre game with fun side stories and wacky characters but it was so much more! The main plot is amazing and characters have depth, even if they are not the focus of the story (though not so much of progression, they are pretty much the same throughout). I wasn't too fond of the fighting (it feels a bit repetitive) but it is really worth hanging on. I think I only scraped the surface with the fun side characters and doing about half of the extras plus the main story took me about 30 hours. Only thing I have a gripe with is the disconnect between the gameplay and the characters. Not the silly ones where you beat 30 people and then go play slot cars or challenge some local boss in karaoke - more the parts where the protagonists are Yakuza that does not kill in cutscenes but bashing heads in the game or getting shot is no biggie. I loved it though. If I don't think about it too hard and don't look for the flawed way it puts gameplay and narrative together I had a great time. I'm not used to playing games that take more than 8h hours to beat, more than 1 to 2 hours per sitting, and this game got me to play way longer sessions than usual. The story is fantastic, and it's so cheap it's a steal. You won't regret getting this. Made with care. Made me care about characters and plot. Combat system was good by the end. Minigames so varied and good that it's overwhelming. Definitely worth the money. Only 40% completion first run through the game at like 60 hours. 9/10 This is an absolute masterpiece. It's more than just a game, it's a thrilling drama that has more twists and turns than a Shyamalan movie. I have this on PS4 (Got a PC copy thanks to humble bundle ayooo) and have dumped almost 100 hours into one save and am nowhere near getting 100%, there's side mechanics I've not even done the tutorial for let alone completed. This game has so much content in it it it's insane. It's a semi-open world featuring two different protagonists within two different cities. Each city has its own atmosphere, activities, locations, quests, everything. You can go from racing pocket cars to hostile takeovers of a real-estate empire. From running a hostess club to crane games. If you ever want to take a break from the main story (which, why would you? I literally speedran the last half of the game because of how engaged I was) you have a massive list of activities to do. Don't like fighting games? That's fine, I don't either. You'll love this game anyways. Even if you don't care for beat-em-ups you'll still find a fighting style you'll enjoy as each character has 3 very different modes. Yu'll never find another game with this much content for $20 ever again. Worst case scenario, just spend your time collecting the softcore videos/cards. It was really fun. My first introduction to the Yakuza series, so I have no idea how it compares to the others. Although it is a prequel made later in the series, and is full of foreshadowing, it has a very captivating and full narrative, that doesn't rely on you knowing anything about the other games. Maybe I am biased because I was never spoiled by knowing who can't die because they appear in chronologically later games. My only criticism is that the fighting system doesn't lack complexity, it has a lot of moves and options. However the game doesn't require you to make full use of said moves, even on the highest difficulty. All the challenges are self-set. this game is amazing if you like a wholesome japanese city adventure targeted to adults with lots of text and fun. the graphics are outstanding - the intro alone was worth the price, there is so much to look at. plus you can scale it to 2160p or get 144fps if you can. they also recently removed denuvo, performance is good. the english writing is very good. you follow the story or roam around in parts of the city and do side-quests. there is always something happening somewhere. the fighting is more about working with the environment and positioning, i mean it is not about learning combos or such. aaa game. two thumbs up from me. This game is great in multiple ways. In terms of narrative, the game features two completely linear storylines and executed them extremely well for the most part. The main narrative is rich in content. The writings feels natural and sophisticated. Though there are some strange bits towards the end, the story can be considered as among the very top in all video games. The Japanese voice-acting are amazing while

I love the side quests and the connectives. I've done some kiryu side quests and pretty much zero majima side-content. The biggest problem is that you don't get to choose your dialogue, instead, you have to follow really slow, boring conversations between the characters and can only jump through some of it. Also, instead of being given a quest or task that is somewhat difficult, your task is to take a taxi somewhere or follow your friend through the streets or beat up some drunk guys. Not at all what I had in mind. Total disappointed. One of my favourite games of 2018. Great story with a lot of dramatic moments which have a lot of comedy bits between them. I can't recommend this one enough. Pretty clunky controls and weak story. I really wanted to like this game because of the mini games but just got really bored and annoyed with the bad controls couldn't even play this trash One of the best games I ever played. I love the side quests and the connectives. I even found out who did the linking is a gag. Sometimes you can skip dialogue. In Yakuza 0, the game specifically doesn't tell you how to skip dialogue in cutscene, in fact, you can't even tell if you're saying "a/k Rambo in a brawler game" or "Kiwami." This is so bad it's annoying. I've broken all my games in the last 5 years, from the superbly made "Majima's Storytelling" to the hilariously over-the-top "Shogi" games. What's worse, there's no end game. I spent a load of time doing cons for a game called "Shogi." This is a semi-open world featuring two different games. There's a lot of stuff to do around town. You can go from racing pocket cars to hostile takeovers of a real-estate empire. From running a hostess club to crane games. If you ever want to take a break from the main story (which, why would you? I literally speedran the last half of the game because of how engaged I was) you have a massive list of activities to do. But most importantly, you have this: A Phone Game. A Gamepad. 9.6" (DGA) resolution LCD screen with capacitive touch controls. 9.6" (WAV) resolution LCD screen with touch controls. Gamepad. 6.5" (DGA) resolution LCD screen with capacitive touch controls. 6.0" (DGA) resolution LCD screen with touch controls. Great game, so many content. A great cast of characters, with many cool ones. My first introduction to the Yakuza series, so I have no idea how it compares to the others. But it's still a great game. I will. This game is very optimized. I'm literally in the end credits now. "The man who gets beat down isn't the loser. The guy who can't tough it out to the end, he's the one who loses." – Daisaku Kuze (Yakuza 0) Yakuza 0 is easily one of the best games I've ever played as well as my Game of the Year for 2018. Kiryu and Majima are both stellar protagonists, and the vast majority of the other characters are amazing as well
(Daisaku Kuze, whose theme is one of my favorite boss themes ever, is essentially tied with Vaas from Far Cry 3 for my favorite video game villain)
. The story kept me hooked the entire time, and I even played through it a second time on the hardest difficulty, which is quite rare for me nowadays. The soundtrack for this game is solid throughout, and handily up there with the likes of DOOM and Halo for me. The substories are varied, hilarious, and fun
(one of my favorites has you sneaking past the ladies in town, including the secretary of your real estate business, to buy a kid some ‘choice literature’ wink wink from some vending machine in an alley)
, and Kiryu and Majima’s business minigames were overall satisfying to complete. Some of the other minigames are great as well, with karaoke and disco being the key highlights for me. The two playable maps, while much smaller than something you would find in a game series like Grand Theft Auto, are choked to the brim with detail and feel very much alive. Combat for both protagonists is quite fluid, and both boss and non-boss fights are enjoyable for the most part
(Any fight with Kuze, especially the sewer fight with Kuze in its entirety, is just pure awesome)
. Another thing to note is how this game is one of the best when it comes to shifting between serious crime drama and absolute hilarity. One minute you’re beating the ever living **** out of yakuza goons out to kill you, and the next you’re racing your toy car against little kids
who love making fun of the announcer for still being a virgin
. I have a few small gripes with Yakuza 0, all of which have to do with minigames. First of all, Majima’s business minigame, if doing everything for it, drags on for just a bit too long. It was a lot of fun completing its main story, but doing all of the side stuff for it became a slog where I eventually just alt tabbed for each duration of the business being open (somehow not serving any guests and enraging them with my inactivity gave me several hundred more fans each time which I find hilarious). Also, the other minigames like

I love everything, the drama, plot, action & pure blood of the yakuza series! You still learn new things from every character even though you know the true ending if you played all of them before this one! either way I will defintally follow the yakuza games till the end and seriously a 11/10 star game so much to do! LOVE IT!<3 This game has tons of content for such a little cost. I first played this on the PS4 and i'm glad to say it is every bit as good as it is on the PC. This game really makes you feel like a Yakuza. I would give this game 9/10 Kiryu-chans This game is exceptionally amazing. Just get it already. If you like funny yet dramatic story telling with amazing minigame/brawler gameplay, this is your new best friend. I was emotionally invested, laughing, and having fun every step of the way. So many hours of fun before completing, and yet half the price of something like Witcher 3. Thriving map that feels alive, more so than open world games 10 times the size. Every side quest is meticulously crafted and interesting, varying from saving someone from a modern cult and beating the shit out of the leader, to custom building your own RC car and becoming the best in the city. I spent the time to ace every challenge and do almost every side quest and it was all time well-spent. When it comes to the main story, the game (after a little bit of exposition that is restricting) you are dropped right in the action. During one of your first confrontations you are faced with a room of twenty or so goons. It opens as an in-engine cutscene, before slowly zooming out behind your character, as it dawns on you that you actually are going to fight the insane amount of people, along with many more, all at once. However fair warning there are some weird things, such as the cards you collect and some of the minigames (which I'm sure you are aware of) but I was able to generally avoid them. Causing me to lose hope for 100% the game. And the gameplay can get a little tedious unless you try new things for yourself. It does mix things up with a second character with an all different skill-set and story in a whole different town. Overall I recommend to any fans of single player story games with side quests. Had a bit of a rough start but it's a one hell of a ride. The story + storytelling is one of best I have seen in a game. Combat is fun, and because the upgrade system actually gives not only stats but more heat actions, it doesn't get repetitive that much. The only thing I hate on this game is some of the mini-games which heavily relies on luck/RNG. Firstly, I want to be expressly clear on this: THE GAME IS AN AMAZING AND FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE, AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PLAYING IT... ON PS4 OR XB1 This is a fantastic game; I sunk 80 hours into it on the console edition, but this port has a bug that I consider to be game-breaking.. The game will randomly stutter and freeze, while the audio stutters. Usually when this happens to me, the game either crashes or remains indefinitely frozen, and I've lost hours about 4 hours of my 10 hours of game play because of this bug. And no, my computer isn't crap, I'm running an AMD Ryzen 3 with a GTX1050ti and 8GB RAM; this is a bug a lot of other players are experiencing despite having great PCs as well. If this bug wasn't present, I'd be singing the game's praises. it's a fantastic game with one of the most rich and engaging stories and characters ive ever seen in a game, but I just can't recommend purchasing this game while this bug is still in the game. If you don't mind saving the game every 5 minutes or crashing on you at random, go ahead and buy this game Best, most compelling video game story that I've seen in ages, great characters, decent combat once you unlock a style that suits you, and wacky side quests make this game a must. Don't trust my hours, I just started replaying this on PC (originally PS4). This game takes £15 from you for 60+ hours of content rich gameplay. Main storyline is absolute perfection, including the other games following suit with that. I never thought I'd fall in love with some of the characters in this series but here I am. With Kiwami 2 coming up soon, snag this, and sit down for a bit. Absolute gem of a game. I really love this game so far but I can't recommend it as the game has severe framerate issues and stutters at random parts and during fights on an i5 6600

I hate when people say this series is "openworld" in the sense that you are literally in this world. That is not the case in this game. The world is large and detailed; the characters are well articulated. The story is well-written. Facial expressions are constant throughout the game. Some side quests are humorous too. If you like Serious, Bloody and Violent Action it has all the ingredients for a great game. If you like singing Karaoke with random girls you met through a Phone Chat booth it has it all. I highly recommend this game. I picked up a PS4 and all the other Yakuza games because of this one. The game is very optimized (I used to pump out 60 fps back when I had an nvidia 660 without any problem), so sega is doing an amazing job bringing this series to PC. Highly recommend you give Yakuza 0 a go. Ive played 2 Yakuza games so far. Yakuza 0 also has a very interesting story, a diverse cast of characters with many interests, and with many substories. This game is great in multiple ways. In terms of narrative, the game features two completely linear storylines and executed them extremely well for the most part. The main narrative is rich in content. The writings feels natural and sophisticated. Though there are some strange bits towards the end, the story can be considered as among the very top in all video games. The Japanese voice-acting are amazing while the English translation are mostly well articulated. So there really isn't much to complain. The side quests feature mostly interesting characters with personality and motivations of their own. Talking to NPCs on the street can somewhat influence the gameplay, which makes me feel the interactions are meaningful. They also help depict the protagonists in various angles, add more life to the compact environment; and most importantly they are well written. The game also have ridiculously many minigames, and a lot of them have real depth to their gameplay especially running the two businesses. You can really spend a whole day in this game just play majong, shogi, pocket circuit racing, karaoke or retro arcade games. And the great thing about this is some these activities even feature they own flapping story. There are also local multiplayer minigames you can play (which I have not tried because I have no friends). As a player, I have to wonder how long did the devs spend in making this game. The protagonists in total have 8 fighting styles which makes the combat never quite boring. Personally I am not a big fan of the beat them up system. Nonetheless I did enjoy a lot of the fights. (Majima somewhat feels more clunky to use, or maybe I am just not playing him correctly) Though the combat feels slightly leaning towards the easy side, as your character is quite tough hence there are room for mistakes, still I think it is one of the good part of the game. The graphics of the game is mostly great. The main character's close-ups are really well made and realistic. However some of the pedestrians' are quite horrifying indeed. But perhaps because of this, the game is always very smooth. The optimisation is so well done that I begin to have faith on Japanese devs to properly optimise their games on PC. The cutscene quality are always great, but the characters don't look too far off during gameplay either. Now done with the good parts of the game, I will talk about where it falls short. It....... ..... it doesn't have dogs?.......I guess... This game is already worth playing just for the hilarious/funky side quests and fleshed out mini games. Now integrating them into a complex story with so many interesting characters makes Yakuza 0 a must try. Highly recommended! Great game. Kiryu and Majima are great lead characters with interesting backstories and bags of charisma. So many weird and wacky sub stories, some of which are ridiculously funny. Plenty of minigames available, with karaoke, dancing and baseball being personal faves. Top notch game and well worth a buy at this cheap price. Why would you make a PC game that needs a controller because the keyboard/mouse bindings are mapped in the worst way possible? The story was pretty interesting for awhile, but after a certain point it's not even fun to play because the controls are so awful. Maybe I'll hook up a controller at some point, but I shouldn't have to do that. "REAL YAKUZA USE GAMEPAD".... because Sega is too lazy to develop any sort of real PC controls and wanted the cash grab. This game is not even worth the space on a hard drive. {Story/Characters}: Very unusual but memorable characters+ story [Do you like Fist of the North Star or JoJo's Bizarre Adventure? If so, you will like this.] {Gameplay}: Significantly different

I hate to say this, but the game did not specifically address long distance gun neutralize, so why should i worry about it? I've run into guns before, i just run over and kill that guy first... this strategy worked all game until I was on a boat and not one but two guys shot me like 20 times before i could even get to them. If I hadn't accidentally had health stuff (i normally just kept heat) on me, it would've been game over with no warning. This is... weak. No reason to throw this curveball at the end. Combat p2: you do not seem to have combat invulnerability unless you are in a QTE (whether it has buttons or not). Your opponents do. You can be punching, slicing, or even shooting them, and they'll come on forward and boop you in the nose then OOPS your ass is on the ground. they also -excel- in super annoying cases at dodging behind you with reaction times the game will not give you then punching the shit out of your heat and probably knocking you over. I spent a load of time doing cons for a game i recommend. This is on purpose: You don't need to know why it's good. You should go find out. I just want you to be aware that... it's going to be annoying as hell on the way there, sometimes. Haven't completed yet. This series surprised me and became one of my top all time games. The story is incredible. The variety of quality activities incredible. The core combat gameplay is very fun. Having multiple protagonists helps broaden both gameplay and story alot. It is a prequel game so you can safely purchase as the story of yakuza is very linear story. The world is the polar opposite of any Ubisoft open world. It is small and concise with dramatically new things hidden in every street you go down. The side quests are on par with GTA / Witcher side quests which often are as interesting as the main story if not incredible amusing and unexpected. This game is as large in terms of content as GTA / Witcher 3. Well there are no english Dubs, the quality voice acting only serves to make you feel like you are in some hidden district of tokyo. Just finished this gem of a game. My first Yakuza title, came here for the story and stayed for the minigames, what a nice little surprise that was... So many hours of entertainment :D It's one of those games that aren't the most technically polished but it makes up for it with a very solid story, impressive amount of characters with actual backgrounds and interesting back stories as well as a lot of unexpected turns that keep things fresh. I will definitely be playing the other games in the series after this. While the game is extremely fun, the sheer technical state of this game for PC is extremely insulting and for this very reason I am not recommending this game. Here is a list of problems that I ran into within 30 minutes:

 • Your resolution screws up when you ALT+Tab,
 • Controls on keyboard are horrible, some people will say that you should use a gamepad, while I say that you should optimise and design controls for the primary method of control on that platform. I used a gamepad anyway which leads me to....
 • When I plugged in my dualshock 4 instead, the UI was telling me the wrong buttons and many controls were awkwardly reversed (for example look around was bound to up and down for sideways controls and vice versa) so I had to awkwardly rebind everything manually (of course there are no presets)
 • Had to dig around the ini files to fix audio and resolution problems, resolution was stretched unnaturally and audio was muffled (turns out there is a bug where if you don't have the master volume set to 100% in the game it muffles the audio, oh it can also crackle and split, which you need to fix via config files)
 • The game crashed, not once, not twice, but three times, in 30 minutes!
 • Also had a fun bug where after coming back to the game, I loaded my save file and the game minimised, the audio kept playing but the game literally disappeared, to the point where it wasn't even in my processes in the task manager, had to restart the whole PC
Loved this game
Haven´t played a game with this much charm since... well, never really. The main story is great. It's a tale about power, money, political drama (but in the yakuza world), ideals and survival. It could be summarized as a story about people trying to get on with their lives, and the fact that, in the end, it really is that simple, is part of this game's charm. But let not forget about the side quest, which more or less follow

I hate to say it but the game had some issues but its a one hell of a ride. I really love this game so far but I can't recommend it as the game has severe framerate issues and stutters at random parts and during fights on an i5 6600k and RX 570 graphics card. Tried to find fixes online, nothing worked. At first the controls were horrific, but then I was told to use a gamepad controller and my god, everything became so much better. This game has it all. Play it and you won't be disappointed... but make sure to use a gamepad controller. Much better than a keyboard for this kind of game. I loved the story. Combat was a bit iffy against multiple mobs, but it was great in 1v1s. Not recommended for those that aren't fans of following stories and reading through long dialogues, you'll end up feeling disengaged if you skip through the two. I get to play as a Japanese guy that beats up random thugs in the craziest fashion while I get to dance, play darts, go bowling (without an annoying cousin), sing some karaoke, eat a bunch of food and get my ass drunk. Also there's this story about the Yakuza I guess Great game! I have only played for about 5 hours, but I'm already completly in love with it! The story is very great, and the game mechanics too. My only remark is that it's not an action based game. There's no actions involved in the game, but the story is still so very great! A fantastic series about drama, humour, and beating people senseless. I picked up a PS4 and all the other Yakuza games because of this one. The game is very optimized (I used to pump out 60 fps back when I had an nvidia 660 without any problem), so sega is doing an amazing job bringing this series to PC. Highly recommend you give Yakuza 0 a go, at this price point you'll have more dozens of hours of fun. This game by far is the most interesting and fun game I've ever experienced. This game is unique in the sense that there is nothing quite like it. There of course is some issue's with the game with bug's, But nothing too game breaking for me. when this game first launched it was quite glitchy but Sega has continued updating the game and it is much more enjoyable now. The price for the game is quite reasonable considering all that you get with the game. Overall i am very happy with how this game has turned out. And I'm very happy they decided to port this over to

Reviews starting with Please

P be aware that some of the side activities are somewhat humorous at times, and some of the side quests are quite the opposite, with some of the side activities being quite the opposite too. I will definitely be playing the other games in the series after this. This is a very long review. I may as well give you a thumbs up or a thumbs down. I didn't like the main story as I liked the romance with Mr.Shakedown a lot. If you like Serious, Bloody and Violent Action it has that. If you like singing Karaoke with random girls you met through a Phone Chat booth it has that too. Do yourself a favor and play this game. I feel like I underpaid for this game The superb and often touching story, plethora of minigames, intriguing characters (that you can't tell if you hate or love) and great music, make for an almost perfect game I won't get into the nitty gritty as others already have. But the game outshines any flaws it has with just the story alone, everything else is just icing on the cake. That isn't even taking into account the goofy but often touching substories that there are around 100 of. This is only my second Yakuza game (played the first on PS2) and I'll be damn sure to play the rest. Both games are fantastic and I can't wait to dive into the rest. If you have an interest in this game, buy it. You'll get far more than $20 worth TLDR: Amazing game and I honestly was not expecting Yakuza 0 to be this good. Gripping story. Engaging action. Wonderful sounds and graphics. A small yet rich open world experience where almost every corner has something interesting in it. Growing up, I didn't encounter the Yakuza series but now that I finished Yakuza 0, I can't wait to continue this epic tale through Yakuza 1 - 6. SEGA PLEASE PORT EVERYTHING!!!! What I didn't like (sort of):

 • In terms of earning money to get the high tier skills that cost 100M - 400M, I think the ONLY WAY to get them without grinding hours and hours is
to bet everything I had in the catfight arena on the fighter with the highest yield. Everything else doesn't even come close to the monetary yield - beating up Mr. Shakedown is a far second.
It felt quite limiting.
 • I'm not a fan of extra extra content just for playtime's sake as I'm more of a story guy so while some of the side activities were fun, some of them were sort of useless after a while. Like the UFO catcher prizes. And those vendo machines are scams!!!!
 • One of the major conflicts is with Kiryu's stand in not killing his enemies - something the rest of the Yakuza have totally no problems with. The game stretches my suspension of disbelief at this when Kiryu uses guns and swords.
 • Not necessarily something I didn't like but it would be good for people coming in to know that this is a violent story in a violent world. The story touches on topics such as torture, sex slavery, and other sorts of activities usually associated with mobsters. Like a lot of torture. So if you're looking for a light hearted adventure, this ain't it. What I liked:
 • Direction is so well executed that if the game wants me to feel a certain emotion, I will.
 • Though this game starts off slow, the pace suddenly bulldozes through the chapters. In terms of 60/30 split of story and side quests, the first few chapters will take the bulk of playtime. As for the last few chapters, the pace was so heart racing that I went through them in two evenings. What a ride.
 • Some scenes like the sudden transition to music video in the karaoke were absolutely bizarre in the BEST way possible. I CANNOT get enough of 24 hour Cinderella and Judgment. I don't know how but they made the weird stuff that happens somehow work well with the very serious story.
 • Speaking of story, this game had gotten me so invested in the story. Some recent AAA games can't even do that right.
 • Facial animation is top notch. I can really feel the swagger, the distress, the hatred, and even the apathy of characters. I mean, how do you express apathy properly? But they're just so so so so good. Take that Bioware. I was not prepared to see how good this game is holy shit. This one sits up there at the top besides the big ones like Mass Effect 2, Witcher 3 etc Go buy it Going about 30 hours + mot counting afk time of about 1 or 2 hours if not a bit more. so far most side storys are some what fun. the main story

P feel free to message me on pc or via e-mail if you have any interest in the series. Gameplay is lacking but still satisfying. Boss fights are ok, although a bit gimmicky. Music is fantastic. The game has gratuitous amounts of content, main story will last for approx 30 hours, not counting sidequests and mini-games. I'm 70+ hours in and I still have fair amounts of content to go through. For 20€ you're getting a lot of bang for your buck. When this game came out on playstation, I have been following this series, I love everything, the drama, plot, action & pure blood of the yakuza series! P upgrade to the glorious endgame after this. oh my god.

The hard difficulty is not a bad way to experience
