IHM Meeting Summary May 11, 2017

Attended by BW, TG and BV

  1. Issues 16, 24, 25, 30 & 33 are being addressed by BW. This will provide a more complete Nup84 mmcif file that can be used to provide a live demo during the next large group meeting (may be during the first week of June).

  2. Issue 35: ihm_external_files.details will provide the information regarding the contents of the file. ihm_external_files.content_type will continue to be a broad categorization of the content type (input/output/script). BW will update IMP to include ihm_external_files.details.

  3. Engaging the broader I/H modeling community: Our current focus is to engage the broader I/H modeling community including the following:

    • I/H models from members of the representation-validation sub-group of the wwPDB I/H methods task force
    • Structures obtained using restraints obtained from Fluorescence experiments combined with SAS, EPR etc.
    • Methods that use spatial restraints derived from evolutionary coupling data
    • Coarse-grained structures of genomes from chromosome conformation capture (3C and Hi-C) experiments

A literature survey carried out by BV over 1.5 years ago provides a good starting point to engage with the community. BV will share this google document with BW and TG (done).
