Today: Starting work on "xenial" apt channel for apt-test. Don't expect to finish, but can lay out skeleton. Mostly backend work. Heads up, early stop time for me today.

Yesterday:

  • While looking into this PGP journalist reply issue, also found that a bunch of other tests were failing when using Xenial :-o
  • Since we need to fix these tests without breaking Trusty for the overlap period, modified the dev env logic to have two Dockerfiles one Trusty one Xenial and one can run in either environment, so there's a make test-xenial target to run the app code tests using Xenial to surface these issues.
  • Started adding the execution of these tests in a separate CI job for rapidly iterating
  • Noticed security checks disabled in CI, so fixed that in a separate PR while I'm at it

Today:

  • May file follow-up issues from Xenial testing
  • Where I left off last night I was at the stage of figuring why the docker layer caching logic is not working with my new CI job, will figure it out today
  • Doing a run through securedrop-client to unblock others for tomorrow
