Notes from the ODPi Operations PMC 6/15 meeting

Attendees: Tim Thorpe, Sumit Mohanty, Alan Gates, Scott Gray, Yusaku Sako, Roman Shaposhnik, Raj Desai

Please let me know if I missed you in the list of attendees.

1) Status of remaining Ambari issues and upcoming Ambari release.

The issues between AMBARI-12885 and AMBARI-14854 have been resolved. AMBARI-12885 will be delivered and AMBARI-14854 will be enhanced to cover installing extensions.

We are looking good for the features we targeted. End of July is the target date for the Ambari release.

2) Determine edits needed in draft Ambari spec.

Tim will do wiki changes for upgrade and extensions by the next meeting.

Jayush will do the wiki update for the management packs. Sumit will get a target date.

Scott will review the spec to see if any further changes are needed.

3) Determine a strategy for building tests and identify people to participate in the process.

We can potentially use the same framework as the runtime and add in our tests.

We don't know whether Cos has completed the work on getting the BigTOP to deploy Ambari. Roman and Raja can help with the review of Cos's work.

How do we test it? Not sure yet how to do this.

Who can we get to do the work? Hack-a-thon – Roman volunteered to host it. Raj is on board. Roman will check availability everyone's availability. We are most likely looking at the first two weeks of July.

4) Determine remaining steps to getting Ambari into the reference build.​

We discussed the progress of getting Ambari into the reference build. Raja Aluri of Hortonworks has agreed to review the existing patch from Cos. Alan will check back with Raja on his progress.
