Notes from the ODPi Operations PMC 6/8 meeting

Attendees: Raj Desai, Alan Gates, Scott Gray, Clint Edwards, Roman Shaposhnik

  1. Determine frequency of PMC meetings (Every week? Every other week?) Every other week, close to release ever week if necessary.

  2. Status of 1.0.1 release Released John and blessed it. https://github.com/odpi/specs/releases/tag/v1.0.1 Scott Gray has ran against IOP.

Smoke Test Issue: https://jira.odpi.org/browse/ODPI-150

IBM and Hortonworks have run the v1.0.1 release.

Who else should run? Reach out to Pivotal, Altiscale.

  1. Getting started on ISV testing and spec conformance. Right now all tests are on the distribution. We’ve talked about creating requirements and specs so that ISVs can also certify that they comply. We need some people to start looking at what this means, how we’d need to change the spec, and what tests we’d need to add. Spec is focused on the distribution. Check list for applications?? Run on a (singular) ODPi platform. Take some sort of action on this. Get someone from one of the ISVs to drive this. Thomas Wise, Clint Edwards, IBM (Scott Gray can be involved), Setup a meeting with all of them.Get a JIRA open and then take plan to release team. https://jira.odpi.org/browse/ODPI-151

  2. Getting someone else to run the runtime test suite and give usability feedback.

Pivotal (coordinate with Roman), Altiscale (contact John for contact)

  1. Goal for the next release (HCFS), bigtop has some tests probably not comprehensive.

JIRA, Scott get someone form the GPFS team to review the HCFS specifications.

HCFS has a HCFS test suite? Alan says that they are not sufficient.

https://jira.odpi.org/browse/ODPI-123

Security ran into issues, Alan and others can give feedback. We can give feedback to the community to get tests in place where there is no coverage. If we can get someone on the next call to talk about this. EMC?
