Notes from the ODPi Operations PMC 9/07 meeting

1. Operations spec

Sumit will take on documenting how to enable kerberos for a custom service. Need to add more to the ambari section. Possible areas needing work: kerberos, monitoring, alerts, widgets, Ambari python scripts, stack-select/conf-select and hooks.

2. Versioning the wiki documentation

Should we create a locked copy of the wiki or a PDF compilation of the wiki? Leaning towards using a PDF.

3. Ambari getting included into the BigTop build (update from Roman)

Roman has committed the stack.

4. Test harness

All the tests will be written assuming Ambari is the management tool.

When we have a draft version of the operations spec for Ambari, we can go over the test harness based on that. Will probably need to create a test service (Hello World) packaged as an extension management pack. We will need to figure out whether we will actually require installation. Will need to verify what we actually need with a test service. Will need to create JIRAs for all test harness work. Kerberos support?
