Notes from the ODPi Operations PMC 8/04 meeting

Attendees: Tim Thorpe, Sumit Mohanty, Yusaku Sako

1. Discuss updates to the spec

During the hackathon, Roman volunteered to take a pass at the first version of the common spec (non-Ambari). Sumit will dedicate some time this week to working on it.

Yusaku and Tim will both work on the Ambari spec.

2. Versioning the documentation

We will create a wiki for Ambari 2.4 and copy all the relevant documents in. We can make it read only. From the operations spec for Ambari, this will allow us to reference the Ambari 2.4 wiki instead of duplicating all the information in the body of the spec itself.

3. Separating the requirements

Scott is going to look at separating the distribution requirements from the app developer requirements. This will need to wait until the spec is further along. He is also wanting to do this work on the runtime spec before he looks at the operation spec.

4. Test harness

When we have a draft version of the operations spec for Ambari, we can go over the test harness based on that. Will probably need to create a test service (Hello World) packaged as an extension management pack. We will need to figure out whether we will actually require installation. Will need to verify what we actually need with a test service.

5. Next meeting will be August 10th. Tim will be away the week of August 17th. Either the meeting will be cancelled for that week or someone else will need to host it. Sumit volunteered but we will decide on whether a meeting is required during the meeting on the 10th.
