Edition

On IGDB, a game is often identified and marked as a specific type. A title can be a main game, a DLC, a season, a bundle etc. A game can also have multiple editions. When adding such an edition, it is important to always connect it to the base game.

How to mark a game as an edition:

  1. On the General page, under 'Status' you have a checkbox called "This game is an edition" (previously known as Version).
  2. Click the checkbox and search for the title of the base game in the upper field.
  3. In the "Edition title" field you can add what kind of Edition it is.

Examples:

  • Gold Edition
  • Ultimate Edition
  • Collector's Edition
  • The Starlight Box
  • The Cosmic Collection

For other types (such as DLC, Remaster, Remake etc), please use our game type selection.

Please refrain from adding store-specific sets, sometimes known as bundles, that aren't editions or bundles of several main games, DLCs, or game types that we allow on IGDB. A good example would be "Game" + "Soundtrack". Unless stated in the title, a set like this would not be an Edition nor can we make it a bundle as it only includes a single game. If you have any questions about this topic, please contact us.
