Project Meeting 2020.06.05

Task 1 Project Management (milestone)

• I'm working on the Phase 6a scope based on phase 6 scoping discussion here.
• Schedule:
  • Planning on two-zone system in June and three-zone / TVPB in August. Jeff on vacation in July.
  • I'm working on Phase 6 SOW, strategic plan, and documentation/tidying up in June.
  • I'm out the following week so cancel 19th meeting. No other major vacations planned.
• Project progress:
  • ~60% of project budget spent so ~$110k remaining
  • Major work left - strategic development plan, two-zone systems, three zones / TVPB
  • Once example distribution feature working, will ask for review of new notebooks, documentation, estimation mode related contributions
  • Have overspent estimation mode by $10k with some remaining documentation to do. Performance tuning task is $35k and we discussed using some (or all) of it for estimation mode. I suggest we wait until we get closer to finishing two and three zones to decide.
  • Strategic development plan draft document should be a good solid draft.
  • Cancel July 3rd meeting.

Task 3 Two Zones (milestone)

• Jeff cleaning up zone handling and labeling so we'll have three possible setups:
  • Zones for trip ODs and land use regardless of the number of zone systems.
  • If one zone system, then zones are used for skims.
  • If two zone system, then we'll have zones and tazs. Tazs are aggregations of zones and used for network skims.
  • If three zone system, then we'll have zones, tazs, and taps. Taps are added for transit access point skims and each tap is associated with a zone.

Task 9 Estimation Mode (milestone)

• Updated the estimation example notebooks here.
• Finishing up example distribution system here, which will use the new activitysim_resources repository instead of the mtc box account moving forward.
• Need to add adding a new term to auto ownership and re-estimating to illustrate workflow and more comments in the notebooks
• Need to add t-statistics to estimation notebook in addition to estimation report
• Will be using estimation functionality for semcog
