the Order

The Order is a fellowship of Jedi, walking a path of harmony with the Force, building mastery of both knowledge and attention. Such a path requires continual vigilance, as the Force is made by both the Known and Unknown elements of the Universe (yang/yin). In order for the Jedi to stay balanced, they walk in-between these two.

Ensuring continuity of the Order is one of the paths of the Jedi, allowing the master to teach what they know and learn it in a new way through their apprentice.

The Jedi have no school -- they do not mass-produce masters. So they rely on the Spirit to bring interested pupils into their ken. The master should always be open to those genuinely curious about becoming a Jedi, as it shows a yearning towards the Spirit.

Jedi should always have questions ready for those who would want to be Jedi, that challenges the padawan into self-reflection about their view of the world and what they want. Time has shown that the eager apprentice eventually fails or betrays the aims, yet also, the eager Master wanting to teach. Hence, always the cultivation of awareness and relationship to the Force to stay balanced.
